Charlie Red by Revlon: The original came out in 1973 (I wasn't born then) and it was a huge hit! In 1993
Charlie Red hit the stores, a more sharper version of the first and very floral. I remember everybody had a bottle of
Charlie Red and it lasted for ages. In 1994
Charlie White was launched and if you were the kid with a bottle of this refeshing, seemingly more stylish version of the cult scent you were the most popular ten year old on the block! There was also blue, silver and gold versions but unfortunately I had grew out of
Charlie by then! I was surprised to see that you can still buy good old
Charlie today: try in your local department store at the Revlon counter or online.
Impulse was launched in the UK in 1979 by Faberge with the tag line "Men can't help acting on impulse." With many different fragrances under the name, and advertised by the likes of the spice girls, impulse was always a very popular spray. Still going strong today, I still have a bottle for my hand bag-it will always be refreshing. The shape of the bottle is so funky, slim line and colourful, and every girl in high school had a bottle of
Impulse in their bag; the most poular being
O2 (otherwise known as the green one!) . Of course Impulse can still be purchased today in drugstores.
Exclamation was released in 1988,
Exclamation was the best perfume in the whole wide world at the time, it came in the most adorable bottle shaped like an
exclamation mark! It was the most synergistic and memorable marketing brands ever, with a catchy tune for the commercial, and a tag line "Make a statement without saying a word"... everybody owned a bottle... it was huge! A sharp, floral, oriental perfume exclamation can still be purchased today!
Sunflowers was launched by Estee Lauder in 1993 and as a pre-adolescent girl it was still a little old for me. However, I remember both my older sisters owned a bottle of it, and everybody would want to buy it for their mum as a christmas present. The scent is a blend of melon, cyclamen, peach, musk, bergamot, jasmine, rose and sandalwood. Still easilly obtained today in department stores.
